Sharon Donovan was most recently the communications director at Earth Island Institute. Previously, she worked in the areas of content development, book production, branding, media relations, book publicity, and communications to help companies, organizations, and individuals shape their messaging, draw top-tier media attention, and increase product and program visibility. Her results-oriented approach involved well-coordinated campaigns, teamwork, effective strategies, quality content, and compelling storytelling.

Sharon worked with several leading book-publishing companies, including Random House; Farrar, Straus and Giroux; Public Affairs; University of California Press; Counterpoint; and Insight Editions. She also represented and collaborated with environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club, Yosemite Conservancy, Foundation for Deep Ecology, Tompkins Conservation, Earth Island Institute, National Wildlife Refuge Association, the National Park Service, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Friends of the Legacy Trail.
